A few things to consider as you come into the Dharma Center:

  • Please arrive on time for class. Make an effort to arrive at least 5 minutes before the teaching begins, as we lock the door moments before starting time to prevent disruptions to teaching & meditation.

  • Please remove your shoes and leave them on the front porch or directly inside the Dharma Center hallway, on the floor, or on the shoe shelf.

  • Please refrain from casual conversation once inside the Dharma Center. Please use the front porch and yard for conversation.

A few things to consider as you come into the Shrine Room:

  • Always maintain silence if someone is meditating in the shrine room.

  • The shrine room is exclusively dedicated for spiritual practices, Dharma teachings, and spiritual ceremonies. It should not be used to socialize or to hold casual conversations.

  • Bottom of the feet never face an altar. So, it is better not to stretch your legs out in the shrine room during a teaching or meditation.

  • It is optional to do 3 prostrations before sitting down to meditate or before a teaching.

  • Wear appropriate clothing (not distracting to others) in the Dharma Center and the Shrine Room.

  • There should be no food or drink other than water in the Shrine Room.

  • Alcohol, smoking, and drugs are prohibited on any part of the premises of the Dharma Center.
