A few things to consider as you come into the Dharma Center:
Please arrive on time for class. Make an effort to arrive at least 5 minutes before the teaching begins, as we lock the door moments before starting time to prevent disruptions to teaching & meditation.
Please remove your shoes and leave them on the front porch or directly inside the Dharma Center hallway, on the floor, or on the shoe shelf.
Please refrain from casual conversation once inside the Dharma Center. Please use the front porch and yard for conversation.
A few things to consider as you come into the Shrine Room:
Always maintain silence if someone is meditating in the shrine room.
The shrine room is exclusively dedicated for spiritual practices, Dharma teachings, and spiritual ceremonies. It should not be used to socialize or to hold casual conversations.
Bottom of the feet never face an altar. So, it is better not to stretch your legs out in the shrine room during a teaching or meditation.
It is optional to do 3 prostrations before sitting down to meditate or before a teaching.
Wear appropriate clothing (not distracting to others) in the Dharma Center and the Shrine Room.
There should be no food or drink other than water in the Shrine Room.
Alcohol, smoking, and drugs are prohibited on any part of the premises of the Dharma Center.
